You know the saying, “The camera adds ten pounds?” In the makeup/camera world….. you LOSE 10 layers! Why can’t the camera make you look like you lost 10 pounds and have the same amount of makeup on as it actually looks? Don’t worry, I have 3 easy tips and tricks that are sure to make you look the right amounts of EVERYTHING!

Brand Photoshoot Makeup

1. If you are au natural………. know that photo ready makeup is going to feel more than you are used to. You know those stinkin’ 10 layers we lose………. gotta make sure to add those back on to capture the amazing features you are trying to showcase. That being said, awareness of the features you love most about yourself is such a helpful tool for you so you can layer up and enhance the features you already feel comfortable with and lay a little lower on the layering up of the features you aren’t super stoked about.

2. BROWS, BLUSH, LIPS and LASHES are the main features that have the most impact on how your features look on camera. Your makeup artist will most likely focus most on those features when doing a professional photoshoot. If you can, add just a little deeper color to the arch of your brows, add one extra layer of blush to give your face more color, go one shade darker in your lip color and try a little corner lash to enhance the darkness of your lash line. YOU WILL SEE A WORLD OF A DIFFERENCE in just those few features.

3. Lastly but certainly not least, I HIGHLY recommend setting up a lesson with a professional makeup artist to show you what colors/styles SPECIFICALLY work for your face and comfort level. Lessons with a professional makeup artist provide you with all the information you need to empower you and take your makeup skills to the next level.
